Range Clean by Kevin From OvenGleamers Bristol on 20 May 2026 - described by the customer as a very poor oven clean.

Note the kitchen was in mid build so dusty. Kevin did point out to the owner when he arrived but the owner insisted that we clean the range cooker.

We wouldn't recommend getting your oven, range cooker etc cleaned when building works are being carried out in your kitchen but recommend waiting until the build had been finished and the room cleaned; as your oven will only get dirty again. Book in your oven then.

Looking at this cooker its an old Britannia range cooker with some obvious defects - dent in front door, and the hinges on the right hand oven need replacing as you can see in the picture with both doors down that the oven door on the right hangs lower than the one on the left. With a cooker of this age you'd also expect rusty bits and you can see that the side racks inside the oven are rusty. The right hand side rack on the left hand larger oven hasn't been fitted properly in as the bottom isn't in the hole in the bottom plate meaning it is sticking out at the top.

So here are the after photos by Kevin. You can see the cooker has been transformed and looks very clean.

This end of clean picture with the doors closed shows the issue with the stretched hinges on the right hand oven - the door doesn't close properly.

Looking at this cooker its an old cooker with some obvious defects - dent in front door, and the hinges on the left hand oven need replacing as you can see in the picture with both doors down that the oven door on the left hangs lower than the one of the left. Also broken hinges. With a cooker of this age you'd also expect rusty bits and you can see that the side racks inside the oven are rusty and so are the hinges.

Customer complained about these five things: click on photos to enlarge.

The customer told us we hadn't done the clean and sent us these five photos and demanded a full refund. We did offer, a few times, to go back to sort out these small problems but he refused insisting on a refund.

So this is the bottom warming drawer of the range cooker. Right in the back right hand corner.

Not sure what the white specs are but I would guess that they are specs of dust from the  building work in the kitchen. Note the sides are dusty.

Lets say we had returned to clean this - this would be a couple of minutes to clean.

So this looks like the same warming drawer but the back left hand side corner.

Again white specs from dust also dust on top of drawer.

Again for us to fix this would be a couple of minutes to clean though we wouldn't be able to remove the rust.

Door hinge on right hand side oven.

If you check it with our final photographs the seal is clean and the hinge is shiny. So surprised it looks like this in this photo. But I think rust has reappeared.

White dust specs everywhere.

But to clean this would be a scrub of the hinge about 5 minutes to fix.

Left door hinge on left hand side oven.

Looks perfect in our end photo so I would have liked to see if was like this after our clean.

Note rusty racks in oven and rust on the hinge.

But a five minute clean.

I'm not sure what the complaint is here. But I would guess he is complaining we didn't clean the splash back of the range cooker.

We charge extra for a splash back and this wasn't booked in.

But checking with our final photograph it is obvious the splash back was wiped over by Kevin for about 30cm up from the hob all across the back of the cooker.

This photo has marks in the corner where the splash back meets the cooker. In our final photograph it is perfectly clean.

On the Google review he also posted pictures of the dirty extractor above the cooker which was not booked in so we didn't clean.
