13 Amp AGA Cooker Vent?

Just in case you were wondering what the 13 Amp AGA Cooker vent looks like. Here is a picture of it. You can see that I’ve put my car key on the top so that you can get an idea of the size.

The vent was positioned at waist height on the outside wall of the house inline with the 13 Amp AGA cooker inside the house. So the vent was coming out directly from the back of the AGA cooker to the outside.

It wasn’t hot just slightly warm to the touch.

So this is something to take into consideration when you are looking at installing an electric AGA cooker that has a vent. The 30 Amp AGA, the 13Amp AGA have them and so can the AGA Dual Control and AGA Total Control. Though for the newer AGAs it is an option. The option is to allow the cooker to vent into the kitchen.

The AGA is going to sit next to a wall and then the pipe from the AGA will travel through floors and through walls to the vent. The vent will be outside on an outside wall of the house. I have seen AGAs in kitchens that are really long way from an outside wall and the length of the connecting pipework is quite a way.

If you get the 13 Amp AGA make sure you familiarise yourself with the fan switch. I have noticed when cleaning 13 Amp AGAs that the surround of the roasting oven door can become stained. This has happened because the fan hasn’t been switched on to vent heat from cooking. I’ve told the customer about it and they hadn’t realised that there was a fan switch!
